Thank you card for a guy

I needed to make a card for a male friend so had to avoid the usual girly cuteness I love to make!  Here's what I came up...

This is the Just My Type stamp by Jessica Rose for Stamping Bella and it comes with five different sentiments to stamp on the paper - really fab, isn't it?  I used papers from the Julie Billingsley Forevermore collection and topped it off with a silver paperclip to keep with the masculine look.  I think he'll like it!  I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamps challenge for anything goes.

Now for some excellent news!   Everything - yes, EVERYTHING! - is 15% off Stamping Bella from Friday 1 February - Sunday 3 February (Midnight MST).  This includes all regular priced AND sale priced items!  To get the discount, just use code ineedtopurge2013!

Okay, I am off now but back tomorrow with my Bellarific Friday post!

Cute, cute girls!

Hello everyone, hope your week is going well.  I'm here today to show you two cards.  The first is with more gorgeous goodies in the Quixotic Paperie shop...

Isn't she beautiful?  And a dream to colour in.  She is Saturated Canary's Thank You that I stamped on Make It Colour Blending Card and coloured with Copics.  The sentiment is from the My Favorite Things Gift Card Greetings stamp set that I stamped on a die from the Mix and Match Banners die set.  I matched her up with papers from the My Mind's Eye Sweetest Thing Bluebell pad.  And of course I used more My Favorite Things Die-Namics - the very sweet Butterflies Die, the Dainty Dots Border die that I popped some gems on top of. I am entering this into the Saturated Canary challenge for inspired by a film (her red hair in Brave!).

My second card uses the gorgeous Sending Hearts from this month's new release by Birdie Brown...

I love this girl so much, I might even make a mother's day card with it - sooo cute!  I used My Minds Eye papers and my newly bought MFT Die-Namics - Bracket Edge Duo die - it's so fab!  The sentiment is from the There She Goes Love Birds set.  I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge for anything goes.

I'm off now but thanks for visiting and I'll see you later on my blog rounds!

He is such a sweetie pie, don't cha think?!  The sentiment is part of this stamp set (there are four sentiments with this bunny wunny) and I matched him up with My Minds Eye Fine and Dandy papers.  I am entering this card into the My Craft Spot for Wish Big.

Okay, I gotta go now (my sniffles have come back so I'm going to bed early!) but I'll be back tomorrow with my Quixotic Paperie inspiration!

BLD Tuesday - Valentines

Today over at By Lori Designs we are showcasing the more Valentine images and here is my DT make using Puddle Jumper Ainsley...

This digi set comes with four sentiments as well as the heart and cute envelope!  I matched her up with Shery K Designs digi papers called Always and Forever and popped her on a My Favorite Things tag die cut.  Check out more Valentine sweetness over at the blog here!

Tutorial on lining up solid metal dies in a neat row

(Please scroll down for my Birdie Brown make and
Pixie Dust Studiosguest designer post!)

Hello, I am back again today!  I'm here with my Make It Monday project for All That Scraps and today I'm going to show you how I line up a neat row using solid metal dies.  First of all, here is the made up card using Sweet November Forest Pals and C.C. Designs Cutters Key & Lock Embossing die...

As you can see I've lined up the hearts in a neat little row and here is how I did it.  To start with, I created a little template using thin printer paper that is the same size as the patterned paper I wanted to use, i.e. 10cm x 4cm...

As you can see, I marked where I wanted the vertical centre of the hearts on the paper (1.8cm in from both ends and 5cm in the centre) and then I marked where I wanted the top of the hearts to line up (0.8cm from the top).

I then cut out this template and used repositional glue to stick the template on top of the patterned paper...

Next I lined up the heart over the centre marker and up to the edge marker.  Using low tack tape to keep the heart in place, I then ran this through my die cutting machineI then repeated this for the other two hearts...

Lastly, I glued a piece of co-ordinating pattered paper behind and voila, it's done!  The great thing is that I can use the "spare" hearts and also  keep the template to use again!

Here's the card again from a different angle...

I hope that was useful - any questions, leave a comment and I'll get back to youTTFN!

I'm wild about you!

Happy Monday everybody and I hope you all had a great weekend!  I'm here with two cards.  The first is using the very sweet Catch My Heart from this month's new release by Birdie Brown...

They are so cute that I just wanted to showcase them simply, but for a bit of interest I used the Lil' Inker Designs stitched square mat die for the base and the MFT Die-Namics - Layered Heart Border.

And my second card is my Pixie Dust Studios guest designer project and I am sharing a card I made for a little boy...

I used Bubbles The Clown from the Circus collection and don't you just think he is perfect for those little boy cards?!  I matched him up with fun papers from My Minds Eye Lime Twist papers.  I used foam pads under the stars and tag so this card really pops!

Okay, thanks for visiting today - I will see you later with my All That Scraps tutorial post!

It's retail therapy!

Happy Saturday everyone!  I am feeling much better today - thanks to the doc who gave me some ABs!  Poor Steve has caught my cold though so he's in bed - I hate it when he's ill as he's so miserable but I love it too as I get to craft all day with no interruptions!

Anyhoo, I am just sharing a card I made for this sketch over at There She Goes...

Oh my, this little lady is so beautiful!  She is from the Sparkly & Bright stamp set, created by one of my all time fave illustrators, Torico.  I wish I had her talent!  I used Zoe Pearn's A Beautiful Thing papers and paper pieced her dress (which I would love to own too!).  I am also entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp for paper piecing.

Okay, I am off for a day of crafting and keeping warm!

(Bright, fun cards!)

Check out all of the new releases here and I'll see you on my blog rounds later!

Make It Crafty product spotlight

(Please scroll down for my MilkCoffee show case post!)

Hello, I'm back again with my Make It Crafty product spotlight using the Mini Book Style Box Kit...

I started off by painting the chipboard with Gesso and then glued on papers from the K & Company Small Wonders pad.  I also added some soft pink ink to the accessory chipboards and topped it off with some paper flowers.  I'm really pleased with how this turned out!   I created this for my friend who's baby girl is due very soon.  I'm going to fill it with some matching little socks, gloves and hat - I can't wait to give it to her!

MiC products used:

I hope you like my project.  Thanks for visiting and I'll see you tomorrow with my Bellarific Friday post!

You see, I told you there was a point!  I just love this guy - he is from a set called Love Call and there's a cute girl version too...
