Flutterby Wednesday #169 - my first DT card!

Yep, I've joined another DT - the Flutter By Wednesdays challenge blog!  I have sooo many fairy and angel stamps/digis that I never get to use that I thought this would be the perfect excuse to play with them!  Plus it's another super talented team so I'm very happy to be associated with them!  Thanks for having me on the team gals!

So for this week, the theme over at Flutter By Wednesdays is...

Celebrate!
A nice easy one - anything to do with celebrating anything!  Here is my make...

This is Little Fairy #5 by Mo Manning - isn't she adorable?!  I actually have all five and this is the first time I've used one of them!  You see, I told you I NEED to be on this DT!!  I blinged her up with Glamour Dust and used more of this gorgeous paper and cardstock from Papermania given to me by Sally of Scallywags (thanks again Sally!) and the sentiments are Fairy Sentiments from Ladybug Crafts Ink here - the perfect match!

I hope you can join us this week - just remember to use a butterfly, fairy or angel.  The rest of the gorgeous DT inspiration can be found on the blog here!  And next week we are starting a whole month of fun so hope you can join us again then too!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, Papermania happy birthday paper pack
Stamps: Mo Manning's Little Fairy #5, Fairy sentiments from Ladybug Crafts Ink here
Mediums: Copics, Glamour Dust

Of course Karber's Reading Millie for Sparkle Creations is perfect for this!  And hoorah!  I no longer need to turn a corner down and ruin my precious books!  I wanted to add more embellishments to this but then I realised it would just get crushed in my bag so plain it stayed - but I think I like it this way!  I hope you have as much fun as me with this challenge!

Do you like the papers?  They are from my good blog mate Lisa J of My Makes 'n' Me!  She sent me these super cute Smirk papers - I luuurve them!  Thank you so much Lisa J - I am lovin' these papers!

Our challenge is open to all players. Each week a random winner will be chosen to win their very own SCRS rubber stamp!  In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation.  You can see more gorgeous DT inspiration here...

My winner from last week's blog hop and use felt over at Pollycrafts Monday!

(Please scroll down for my Make It Monday DT post!)
Before I announce the winner of the Casper Silvermist My Board from last week's Pollycrafts blog hop, it's a new challenge!  For this week's Pollycraft Monday Challenge the uber talented Jane has challenged us to....

USE FELT!

I loved this challenge (thanks Jane!) but I confused myself as I had soooo many ideas!  So ended up making felt clouds...

I used Sonny Honeycloud Tomboy who reminds me of me when I was a kid!  I used to climb trees, have bruises all over me and generally not like girly things!!  The only girly thing about me was my long hair that my mum would never let me cut short!  (And as an adult have kept to her choice too - obviously mother's always know best!)
This week we are being sponsored by The Crimson Cloud (you can see why I landed on my felt clouds!) and they are offering the winner 3 pks die cuts!
And now onto the winner of Casper Silvermist My Board (available from today in new release section in the shop here!).  Drum roll please....

That's commentator #2 - that's you Heather!  Well done honey!  Send me an email at

Blast from the past over at Meljen Designs!

(Go here for my post on the Pollycrafts Rockin' blog hop and a chance to win candy!)

Firstly, a HUGE thank you for all of the sweet wishes I received for my birthday yesterday!  I also received beautiful cards and pressies from some of my blog mates and will post a piccie of them soon!  So that's enough celebrating for this year, roll on the next one!

This week's Meljen Designs challenge is to show the very first card you ever made using their image - so here is mine using Sleepy Time bear which I think was made for High Hopes...

I love Meljen Designs and I must say I'm quite proud of this very first card I made with their goodies!

Tag time over at Take the Pixie challenge!

It's still my birthday and I'm still celebrating my birthday with tons of housework!!!!!  Hmmph (as blog mate Kerry would say!). Here (in spirit of course with this scheduled post!) is my DT card for this week's Take the Pixie Challenge is to tag it!  Here is my take on it...

I just adore this image!  It is called Pocket of Love and I just love their huge eyes!  And look - no designer papers!  I used Core'dinations vintage look cardstock and went a bit mad with my ripping, distressing tool and lots of edge inking!  Untidy, just like a real boy!  That woodgrain is a Hero Arts background stamp that I embossed with Adirondack embossing powder in coffee and the material is from an old pair of jeans - thought it would match nicely with that stamp!

That's it from me today - enjoying the rest of my birthday!

I am entering my card into the following challenges:

Paper/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, Core'dinations cardstock
Stamps: Pixie Dust Studios Pocket of Love, Hero Arts dots background, CC Designs sentiments
Mediums: Copics
Accents: ribbon and kraft tag from stash
Tools: Distressing Tool, Nestabilitie label die inside card

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me...!!

(Please scroll down for a chance to win some Pollycrafts candy!)

Yay, it's my 43rd birthday today!  I mean, boo, it's my 43rd birthday today!!  So what does one do to celebrate one's birthday?  Take a day's holiday from work of course!  Well, I've done that, but I actually need to spend ALL day doing housework and gardening!  We are hosting two lunch parties this weekend - my in-law's 40th wedding anniversary and my mum's 70th birthday - so it's go, go, go to get things ready!!!  Hey ho, at least the lovely hubster will take me out to my all time fave restaurant The Griffin Inn in Fletching tonight - the food is superb and the wine waiter is cute (and far too young for me, but a gal can look, right?!).

Anyhoo, enough waffle - here is a birthday card I made for someone else!  I used some more fave goodies over at Quixotic Paperie...

Isn't this cutie fun?!  And such a dream to colour in!  This is Jester Bear by Rick St Dennis - one of the newer lines Quixotic Paperie is now stocking!  You can either buy him for just £3.45 or the whole first Bears #1 collection of 6 images for £17.99 (that's £3 each!).  I used that fun paper from the My Minds Eye Lime Twist Out of the Blue paper pad - just to add to the fun!

That's it from me for now - please join me later for the new Take the Pixie Dust challenge!
