Delightful

Okay, so no cards for nearly two weeks and now I'm overloading my blog with them! I made another card today using the Anyone for Anya sketch #10 challenge.

I'm still loving those CC Designs stamps - they are so easy to colour in and match up with all those gorgeous DT papers out there. Perhaps I'll try NOT using them in my next 5 cards or my style will get a bit stale, lol!

Papers/cardstock: various Bazzill cardstock, Crate Paper Pink Plum paper pack
Stamps: CC Designs Sweater Birgiitta and tree stump
Mediums: Copic Caios, glitter glue (on wings)
Accents: none
Tools: butterfly punch

Two new tecniques for me

Yay, I managed to make two more cards this morning! (Thanks to the puppy waking me up at 6am. Hhhmmm.) I thought I would try two new techniques for me. The first is a CAS (clean and simple) style. I was inspired by Carly Robertson of Paper In Bloom. I love this fabulous lady's style - she is so versatile, from CAS to contemporary to shabby chic - she can do them all brilliantly! Very jealous.... Her main style is CAS which I always find difficult - normally looks so unprofessional but I think this one came out ok! I used a subtle Colorbox chalk ink to stamp the heart border - so subtle you can barely see it! Ha ha!

For this second one, I made my own "brad looking" flower centre. I picked up this technique on Saturday when I made a visit to The Glitter Pot where they had a day of demonstrators, one of them being Paula Pascual. Seeing the "brad" on one of her cards, I thought she had used that new I-Top brad making tool - I've been considering buying one but just can't justify a new toy. Anyway, she hadn't used that and instead created it with just two things that require no extra investment! All you need to do is cut/punch out a circle from light weight card and use a rounded end (I use the end of a pen but you can buy flower making special tools for it - of course!) to shape the reverse side using small circular motions does that make sense?!). You then use silicone glue or foam pads to stick it on. Because it creates small creases around the edges, the brad looks like it's been made from fabric - it's a really lovely effect. Thank you Paula!

I used the most recent Mercy's Tuesday sketch below (which of course I missed the deadline again!) for both cards and I am also entering the second one in the Crafty Sentiments challenge to use punches.

Papers/cardstock: Bazzill cardstock, My Minds Eye Be Loved pack
Stamps: CC Designs Ladybug Nora and Field Fence, The English Stamp Company (heart border)
Mediums: Copic Caios, glitter glue (on wings), Colorbox chalk ink (heart border)
Accents: ribbon from stash
Tools: Woodware flower punch and 1" circle punch, EK Success 1.25" scallop circle punch

Mojo Monday - just in time!

I can't believe it's been nearly two weeks since I last posted! Life and work just don't seem to be slowing down for me and it's playing havoc with my creativity time! Luckily, I managed to find some time this evening to create a card - just in time for this week's Mojo Monday #140 challenge - whew! So here it is...

I also managed to colour in a few images so hopefully I will manage to "create" more time to create more cards tomorrow - fingers crossed!

You're invited

Wow, the last two weeks have been incredibly busy for me so very little crafting time. I've missed it big time! Then one of my best friends asked me to make some invitations for a dinner party she is having for her mother's 75th birthday. She didn't have any theme or suggestions on what she wanted so I had to put in some extra brain time! So this is what I came up with...

I am sure there is some challenge I could submit it to, but I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to catch up on all my blogging! I should be able to find some more time to create this week - fingers crossed!

I've also got a couple of Maya Road alphabet chipboard sets left so if you want one, leave a comment here!

Help! Take this blog candy off my hands please!

No card for you today, but a giveaway instead. You won't believe this, but I had a very enjoyable time last weekend tidying up. Of course, it was my craft room! There is very little that I enjoy more than rifling through all my stash! On the downside, I end up feeling very guilty about how much I haven't yet used - I bet you all know how that feels, huh?!!

Anyway, to the candy! To my dismay, I found no less than unused 8 Maya Road alphabet chipboard sets and several other brands too (including BasicGrey). I think I bought them in the sales a couple of years ago and since then I have bought Quickutz alphabet dies which are smaller in size so better suited to cardmaking.

If you want any of these sets, leave me a comment on this post and become a follower if you aren't already. The chipboard is also in different styles so let me know if you want "classic" or "modern". First come, first served basis. I will try to accommodate the style requested and will send one set to each of those leaving me a comment up to the point I run I out of sets (15 in total). And it doesn't matter where you are in the world - I will post anywhere as long as I know that it's going to a good home!

Hopefully I will have a card to share with you later this week. TTFN!

Yum!

Yep, still loving the CC Designs! I had to use one of the new releases, Cupcake Kiki, with the All That Scraps challenge to use pink and brown - double yummy! So here she is...

The photo doesn't really do the card justice (honest!) - the cardstock is more of a hot fuschia pink rather than the reddish pink and the ribbon matches the paler pink of Kiki's dress in the photo! Nevermind. Not sure if the yellow counts but the DT cards did have a touch of other colours so I am hoping mine counts!

It's polling day in the UK - will we have a new party by the weekend? I don't know yet, but it's all very exciting!!

10th birthday celebration

Hi all! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and for those in the UK are looking forward to one more day off today! The weather isn't as bad as predicted for East Sussex so hopefully it won't rain!

Anyhoo, I really must stop focusing on our rubbish UKweather! Here is a card I made for my nephew who will be 10 years old very soon. Goodness, where does the time go? Was I really only 31 years old when he was born?! I was still partying! And now all I want to do is have early nights so I have enough energy to get through a day's work, lol! I used this month's By the Cute and Girly challenge theme "celebration".

I think perhaps the ribbon is a little girly for a little boy, huh?! Not sure what to replace it with though, a bit plain without anything - any suggestions most welcome!

What a little monkey!

I made three cards last night, yes - 3! I was on such a roll and only went to bed because I was so mentally exhausted from work! It's miserable weather here in England (drizzle, grey, sigh) but at least we have had a few very sunny weeks so I am not going to complain!

Anyway, here are my cards. The first one is using CC Designs Swiss Pixie Nora on a Swing - she is soooo gorgeous! I used the Anyone for Anya sketch #9...

These second two use the CC Designs Flower Power monkeys - I am loving CC Designs stamps sooo much at the moment! The first one I made using Amy Rysavy's sketch #79, but once again I missed the deadline! Hey ho, nevermind.

I didn't use any sketch for this one as I just couldn't make it fit one!
